MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Police say a student made a video threatening an Alabama high school and posted it on social media.
Montgomery Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Martha Earnhardt says the female student was taken into custody Wednesday evening and charged with making a terrorist threat.
Earnhardt did not elaborate on the specifics of the threat. The student’s identity has not been released. Earnhardt says the student was taken to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Facility.
Tom Salter, a spokesman for the Montgomery County Public School System, said the threat involved Jefferson Davis High School. The student attended school there.
Salter said a tipster contacted the high school’s principal about the video, and the school system contacted police. Security was increased at the school Thursday as a precaution.
