Kamloops property tax notices in the mail

KAMLOOPS – It's that time of year again, property tax notices began arriving in the mail this week.

Council agreed to a 1.22 per cent tax increase earlier this year and as  a result the average tax payer should expect to pay roughly $34 more dollars this season than last year.

Property taxes, due Thursday, July 2, can be paid at most financial institutions, by internet or phone through your personal bank. If your mortgage lender is paying your property taxes on your behalf, you must submit your homeowner grant application first to avoid penalties.

While drop boxes are not new, a location at the university has been added. Located at the entrance of the Tournament Capital Centre, payments can be made during regular office hours.

And as always, payments can also be made by mail or in person at City Hall, though the city does not accept credit cards at City Hall.
