CAIRO – The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for an attack on Saudi prison security guards in al-Qassim earlier in the week.
The group’s digital magazine al-Nabaa in its Friday issue said three militants attacked a gathering of guards from al-Tarfiya prison on Sunday, killing and wounding a number of them without saying how many.
The IS magazine said three militants were killed by Saudi security police.
The Saudi Interior Ministry said at the time that a Saudi security official and a bystander were killed.
