PENTICTON – A Penticton craft brewery, not even in business for a year, has attracted award winning national attention.
Bad Tattoo was awarded two silver medals in the 2015 Canadian Brewing Awards held last week in Niagara Falls, Ontario, according to a media release
The brewery won silver for best North American-style amber lager as well as a silver for Belgian-style Abbey Ale. The competition involved 1,200 beers from over 200 breweries.
Bad Tattoo’s Los Muertos Cerveza Negra and Dia de Los Muertos Cerveza Fuerte, two of the fledgling brew pub’s most popular beers, were the medal winners.
Beer Director Martin Lewis says they were thrilled to win two silver medals considering how new the brew pub was to the game.
“We predicted our amber lager would be our best selling beer even before we launched," he says in the release. "Our instincts were right."
Bad Tattoo also won on the local scene recently, taking away four gold medals in the Oyster Craft Beer Competition, which took place in Osoyoos in April.
