Motorcycle crash kills West Kelowna man

WEST KELOWNA – A man is dead after losing control of his motorcycle on Boucherie Road Sunday afternoon.

A 30-year-old man from West Kelowna was seen 'passing unsafely and exceeding the speed limit' on his blue Harley Davidson around 1:15 p.m., July 5, according to an RCMP release.

He was driving his motorcycle southbound on Boucherie Road when he lost control near Proserpine Road and was ejected.

He was treated on scene and transferred to hospital, where he died a short time later.

RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have witnessed this driver prior to the crash, or has any other information, and has not already spoken to police, to call Cst. Bevan at 250-980-5353.

  1. I drove by the accident scene and noticed it is a divided road with a single lane on each side of the divider. It would be very dangerous and illegal to pass there. The speed limit is only 50 kph on that stretch so there is no reason to pass anyone there. I’ve been motorcycling for 49 years now and I don’t understand why anyone would attempt to pass someone on that section of road on a motorcycle.

  2. We need way more police presence on Boucherie Rd. So many vehicles go by my house at a very fast rate of speed..it’s a drag race out there at night . So sorry for the loss to the family of this young man.
