OTTAWA – A book of condolence will be available in Ottawa for Canadians wanting to express their sympathy over the mass shooting at an Orlando, Fla., nightclub.
A gunman attacked a gay nightclub with an assault rifle early Sunday, leaving 49 people dead.
Ambassador Bruce Heyman says the book will be available at the United States Embassy in Ottawa on Tuesday and Wednesday for those wishing to sign.
Heyman says the United States is “very appreciative” of the many gestures and statements of sympathy and support it has received from the Canadian people, including Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s expression of condolence.
Heyman also noted in a statement Monday that the U.S. appreciates the vigils that have taken place or are planned throughout Canada.
