Dallas police investigating death of child left in car

Dallas police are investigating the death of young child who was left in a car amid hot weather.

Police said in a statement that officers responded around 4:20 p.m. Sunday to a report of a 3-year-old left in a vehicle on the northeast side of town.

The child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

No further details were immediately available.

The National Weather Service says the high in Dallas on Sunday was 100 degrees.
