Child seriously injured on water park slide
BOURNE, Mass. – Police say a toddler has been seriously injured at a Massachusetts water park.
The Bourne Police Department says a 2-year-old girl was on a slide at a splash pad at Buzzards Bay Park Tuesday afternoon when she was injured.
Police say the injury was to a lower extremity, but they have not released further details.
The child has been transported to a Rhode Island hospital for treatment.
The new playground and splash pad had recently opened to the public May 25.
Bourne Town Administrator Thomas Guerino says the playground will be closed until officials determine what happened.
