Utica Comets’ power play looms large in win over Laval Rocket

LAVAL, Que. – Evan McEneny had one goal and two assists to lead the Utica Comets to a 5-4 win over the Laval Rocket in American Hockey League action on Saturday.

Tanner Kero, Zack MacEwen, Brendan Gaunce and Darren Archibald also scored for the visiting Comets (10-12-1-1).

Ryan Culkin, Victor Mete, Alex Belzile and Hunter Shinkaruk replied for the Rocket (8-13-2-1). Laval’s Michael McCarron chipped in with four assists.

The Comets went 3-for-6 on the power play, while Laval was 1-for-2.

Laval travels to Ontario next weekend for games against the Belleville Senators and Toronto Marlies.
