KAMLOOPS – A local business-owner travelling in Paris is now in a safe location following this afternoon’s attacks Nov. 13.
Mike Miltimore, who co-owns Lee’s Music in Kamloops and is the founder of Riversong Guitars, says he was close to where shots rang out in the city but managed to leave the location to return to his hotel.
“I’m in Paris right now and was close to where the shooting happened. I’m back at my hotel and I am safe but I feel horrible for the people that have been affected by this craziness,” he wrote on Facebook.
The situation is still developing in the city. So far, Associated Press has quoted one official saying at least 100 people were killed following an attack near a popular concert venue where hostages were taken. Officials have declared a state of emergency and borders are reported to be closed.
