Kelowna Rockets assistant coach Dan Lambert has been named head coach of Team West
Lambert was named head coach of Team West this week at the 2014 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, replacing Malcolm Cameron, who was originally appointed as head coach of Team West back in May but was recently promoted to head coach of the Regina Pats and stepped down.
Hockey Manitoba and Saskatchewan Hockey Association announced the coaching change for the event to be held December 28th – January 5th, 2014 in Cape Breton, NS.
Lambert, who is a St. Boniface (Winnipeg) native, completed his fourth season as a Kelowna Rockets assistant coach in 2012-13. He is a former Memorial Cup champion after winning the title with the Swift Current Broncos in 1989.
Including a stint with the Quebec Nordiques (NHL), Lambert holds 19 years of professional playing experience in North America and in the German elite league (DEL).
