Calgary’s Ashton Brown to row for Cambridge in women’s Boat Race next month

TORONTO – Canadian Ashton Brown has been named to the Cambridge crew for the women’s Boat Race against Oxford next month.

The 26-year-old from Calgary has rowed for Canada as well as Princeton University and the University of Ottawa.

Thomas Swartz, who grew up in the United States but also has Canadian citizenship, is in the Oxford boat for the men’s race.

The men’s and women’s Boat Races will take place on the River Thames on April 11. It’s the first time the women’s race is being held on the same day as the men’s.
