Toronto pitcher Marco Estrada scratched from start against Rays after slightly injuring ankle
DUNEDIN, Fla. – Marco Estrada of the Toronto Blue Jays was scratched from his scheduled start Sunday against the Tampa Bay Rays after slightly injuring his ankle during fielding practice. Roberto Osuna will pitch in his place.
Manager John Gibbons says he expects Estrada to start Tuesday against Minnesota or Wednesday against Baltimore.
Estrada, a candidate for the fifth spot in the rotation, is 1-1 with a 9.39 ERA in four outings this spring. The right-hander was acquired by the Blue Jays last November for first baseman Adam Lind.
