SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Latest on the stabbing of a Los Angeles County sheriff’s detective (all times local):
12:30 p.m.
A suspect has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is accused of stabbing a Los Angeles County sheriff’s detective at a fast food restaurant in Santa Clarita.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says the suspect was taken into custody shortly before noon Monday after about a manhunt that lasted about two hours.
She says the suspect approached the detective at a Jack in the Box restaurant and asked him if he was a law enforcement officer. She says that when the detective said yes, the suspect stabbed him.
The 26-year veteran detective was taken to a hospital. There’s no information about the detective’s condition.

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy has been stabbed and wounded by a suspect.
Sheriff’s spokeswoman Nicole Nishida says it happened around 10 a.m. Monday in the Canyon Country neighbourhood of Santa Clarita.
She says the deputy was taken a hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities could not immediately provide any additional information about the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
Nishida says the suspect is still being sought by authorities.
