Agrium suspends operations at Saskatchewan mine after worker injured

VANSCOY, Sask. – Operations at a potash mine in Saskatchewan have been suspended after a worker was seriously injured.

Todd Steen, general manager of Agrium’s (TSX:AGU) mine in Vanscoy, says the worker was caught between two pieces of equipment while underground early Monday morning.

Steen says the worker has very serious injuries.

Steen did not identify the worker or give the worker’s age, but says the man’s family is with him at a Saskatoon hospital.

Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety is on site and working with the potash company.
