TSN says TV audience for TFC-Impact MLS East final clash surpasses 1-million mark

TORONTO – More than 1 million viewers tuned in to see Tuesday night’s Major League Soccer playoff game between the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC, according to TSN.

The broadcaster said in a release that a record 1,024,000 viewers watched Montreal’s 3-2 win between TSN and French-language RDS.

The release said Tuesday’s audience nearly doubles the previous record of 587,000 on TSN and RDS for a TFC-Impact playoff match on Oct. 29, 2015.

TSN said more than 3.6 million unique viewers watched some part of Tuesday’s first leg of the Eastern Conference final, with audience levels peaking at 10:27 p.m. ET in the final minute of regular time.

The second leg of the two-game aggregate series goes Nov. 30 in Toronto.
