Head found in Edmonton alley belongs to remains found outside city

EDMONTON – Police have linked a head found in an Edmonton alley to human remains discovered outside the city last weekend.

The medical examiner has ruled the death a homicide.

No other details have been released.

The headless body of a man was found near Ranfurly, 140 kilometres east of Edmonton, on Saturday.

A woman then found the head while walking in a northeast Edmonton neighbourhood on Wednesday.

Local media have said that residents of Ranfurly said the body wasfound lying in a ditch next to a running pickup truck.
