PENTICTON – A 12-year-old boy was hit in a crosswalk on a Penticton street last night and is now in Vancouver Children's Hospital with serious injuries.
RCMP say the collision happened at around 6:13 p.m., Feb. 11, at the intersection of Main Street and Industrial Avenue.
The driver of a 2012 Dodge pickup was making a left-hand turn from Main Street onto Industrial Avenue when he hit the boy on the skateboard who was riding in the crosswalk, according to a RCMP media release.
Officers from the RCMP Municipal Traffic section and the Southeast District Traffic Services reconstructionist are investigating.
