TORONTO – Russian punk collective Pussy Riot, singer Cyndi Lauper, comical cult legend John Waters and gay rights activist Chaz Bono are set for Toronto’s Pride celebration.

Organizers say Pussy Riot and Lauper will be among the event’s international grand marshals who will help lead the parade on June 28.

Meanwhile, Waters will bring his lecture series “The Filthy World” to the Ryerson Theatre on June 22.

And Bono will appear at Yonge-Dundas Square on June 26 as part of the Transforming Pride event.

Canadian producer David Furnish was previously announced as a grand marshal for the festival.

The 35th instalment of Toronto Pride runs June 19-28 with the theme of “Come OUT and PLAY!”
