Habib’s Unforgettable All Night House Party – World Premiere

KAMLOOPS – Western Canada Theatre is proud to present the World Premiere of Habib's Unforgettable All Night House Party, written by Kamloops’ own Janet Michael, from March 31 – April 9 at the Sagebrush Theatre.

Set in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1947, a Lebanese family prepare to celebrate their parent’s wedding anniversary with a house party full of fun, music and family.  Playwright Janet Michael recounts the hilarious and turbulent story inspired by her Lebanese grandparents’ integration into St John’s, raising a family and running a store. “The Second World War had just ended.  It was a time of unbridled optimism and it helped spawn a band of young immigrant descendants who were determined to create a place for themselves in the hearts of their fellow Newfoundlanders. They did it with music and laughter. They were my family.”

WCT is excited to celebrate 40 years of theatre by producing the world premiere of a new play by Janet Michael in collaboration with the Resource Centre for the Arts, of St John’s, Newfoundland.
