Flames’ Adam Ruzicka fined US$2,004.17 for elbow on Kevin Shattenkirk
NEW YORK – Flames forward Adam Ruzicka was fined US$2,004.17 on Thursday for elbowing Kevin Shattenkirk of the Anaheim Ducks during a gamethis week.
The fine is the maximum allowed under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The incident occurred in the first period of Calgary’s 6-2 win Wednesday. Ruzicka was assessed a minor elbowing penalty on the play.
Ruzicka, Calgary’s fourth-line centre, has four goals and three assists in 16 games this season.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
