Rapper Lil Wayne skips Minneapolis show after some in entourage shut out

MINNEAPOLIS – A Minneapolis nightclub says rapper Lil Wayne refused to perform a scheduled show after members of his entourage weren’t allowed in the club.

The Venue on First Avenue said on its website that several members of the rapper’s entourage refused to submit to patdowns and metal detectors and provide identification before entering the club ahead of Sunday night’s show.

The club called the checks “standard safety procedures.”

Lil Wayne was allowed in but ultimately decided not to perform, the club said.

A representative for the rapper didn’t immediately respond to an email Tuesday seeking comment.
