Leafs acquire defenceman Marincin from Oilers for forward Ross, pick

TORONTO – The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired defenceman Martin Marincin from the Edmonton Oilers for forward Brad Ross and the 107th pick in the NHL draft.

Marincin was selected by the Oilers in the second round, 46th overall, of the 2010 draft.

The six-foot-four, 203-pound native of Slovakia played 41 games for the Oilers last season, registering a goal and four assists as well as a minus-4 defensive rating.

He had seven assists and was minus-5 in 28 games with the American Hockey League’s Oklahoma City Barons.

Ross was drafted in the second round, 43rd overall, by Toronto in 2010.

The six-foot-one, 190-pound forward split last season between the AHL’s Marlies and ECHL’s Orlando Solar Bears.
