KETCHIKAN, Alaska – A Ketchikan man was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash.
Alaska State Troopers say 30-year-old Robert Young was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment.
Troopers late Tuesday afternoon took calls of a motorcycle crash at Mile 3 South Tongass Highway.
Investigators determined that Young lost control of his motorcycle, drove off the highway, struck a mailbox and hit a parked car. Witnesses found him trapped underneath the car.
The South Tongass Volunteer Fire Department freed Young from underneath the car and transported him to Peace Health Ketchikan Medical Center.
Troopers say speed was a factor in the crash.
