Amber alert issued for Ottawa baby girl

OTTAWA – An amber alert has been issued for a one-year-old girl Ottawa police say has been abducted by her father.

Ottawa police Insp. Mike Maloney says Daska Lupemba went missing just before 10 p.m. Sunday night but it wasn’t until this morning that officers realized her safety may be at risk.

Police have released few details about the girl, who is described as black.

Police describe her alleged abductor, 26-year-old Junior Kabange, as black, six feet tall, with brown eyes and long black dreadlocks.

No vehicle information was immediately available, though police say the pair may be headed toward Montreal.
