Crown drops charges against Kelowna man accused of drug trafficking in Edmonton

KELOWNA – Charges against a Kelowna man who was arrested in Alberta last year after a warrant led to the seizure of more than $400,000 worth of drugs and cash have been withdrawn.

Blair James Seabrook, 40, was arrested April 23 at a home in Edmonton, along with five Alberta residents. Inside the home police found 23 grams of cocaine, 488 grams of ecstasy, 568 fentanyl pills, cutting agents as well as marijuana and mushrooms.

On May 10, in an Edmonton court before Judge John Henderson, the crown withdrew the charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking against Seabrook.

A media release sent at the time of the arrest says the investigation determined the drugs came from Kelowna and were to be distributed in Alberta.

Also arrested were Alberta residents Elyssa Burton, 19, Corban Guiney, 20, Eric Gauthier, 21, Levi Lund, 26, and Teia Sheppard, 21.

Three vehicles and almost $30,000 in cash were also seized as proceeds of crime.
