TORONTO – The Canadian men’s volleyball team fell three sets to one to Argentina in a Pan American Games semifinal Friday.

Argentina will play for gold Sunday against the winner of a later semifinal between Brazil and Puerto Rico. Canada will play the loser for bronze.

Canada led deep into the first and fourth sets, but couldn’t close them out. Argentina was the better blocking team with 10 for points to Canada’s four.

Saskatoon’s Gavin Schmitt led the host team with 25 points.
