Most actively traded companies on the TSX

Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,545.25, up 63.35 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down one cent, or 0.85 per cent, to $1.16 on 7.2 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Up 33 cents, or 1.16 per cent, to $28.69 on 4.7 million shares.

Crescent Point Energy (TSX:CPG). Oil and gas. Up seven cents, or 0.44 per cent, to $16.15 on 4.6 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Down $1.05, or 2.91 per cent, to $35 on 4.6 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down one cent, or 0.11 per cent, to $8.88 on 4.2 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 26 cents, or 4.23 per cent, to $6.40 on four million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Sears Canada (TSX:SCC). Department stores. Up 30 cents, or 3.67 per cent, to $8.47 on 10,813 shares. Sears Canada’s second-quarter revenue was down 9.1 per cent from the comparable period last year but the company says its core retail network showed positive sales momentum. For the second quarter ended Aug. 1, Sear Canada’s revenue was $768.8 million and net income was $13.5 million or 13 cents per share. Included in the profit was a $67.2-million gain, before taxes, from the sale and leaseback of three properties.
