KELOWNA – Firefighters made quick work of a fire in a forested area above Wilden early this morning despite windy conditions.
Kelowna Fire Department was called out at 3 this morning to find a fire spreading fast in "significant wind," says Platoon Captain Steve Wallick in a release. The fire grew to 50' by 300' but 22 firefighters kept it there.
Cause of the fire is unknown and being investigated.
"Kelowna Fire Department would like to remind everyone to be extremely careful with open flame and smoking material near outdoor wooded areas," he says.
