ARMSTRONG – A 16-year-old Armstrong boy will be all right after he was hit by the driver of a Mazda pickup truck across from the McDonalds on Smith Street Thursday afternoon.
The teen was riding his bike on the sidewalk when he was struck by the truck coming out of a strip mall parking lot at about 4 p.m.
“The boy tried to veer out of the way but glanced off the front of the truck and was thrown into the street,” North Okanagan RCMP media spokesperson Gord Molendyk says.
The victim complained about neck and leg pain and was taken to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries, according to Molendyk.
The driver of the truck isn’t facing any charges in relation to the crash, but it turns out the Armstrong man didn’t have any insurance and was handed a ticket.
