PENTICTON – A house fire early this morning in Penticton has been deemed suspicious by investigators.
Crews were called to a blaze at a home in the 4700-block of Lakeside Road at about 3:50 a.m., July 8, according to deputy fire chief Dennis Smith.
Firefighters found a minor amount of smoke in the building and ventilated the structure, in addition to using a 20 pound dry chemical extinguisher to douse the kitchen-based fire.
Smith reports minor damage to the building, which was empty of occupants when firefighters arrived.
No one was hurt. The fire has been deemed suspicious and the fire department is investigating.
Penticton RCMP also attended the scene.
