Kelowna featured in first episode of Amazing Race Canada

KELOWNA – The Central Okanagan's spectacular views and amenities were on full display in the first episode of Amazing Race Canada that debuted last night.

The show follows a similar script as its popular game show cousin but features Canadian residents travelling through Canada. First stop: Kelowna. Contestants had to race to the blue bear sculpture downtown, rent jet skis and then dunk deep under Okanagan Lake to find an underwater statue of Ogopogo. From there, they raced to the Myra Canyon trestles for another clue before racing to beautiful Quail's Gate Winery to finish the leg.

Nine teams of two people started the show, hosted by former Canadian Olympian Jon Montgomery.
