BARRIERE – A collision south of Barriere has closed the Yellowhead Highway this afternoon.

The two vehicle crash involved a personal vehicle and a fuel truck with one person trapped under their steering wheel, according to unconfirmed reports.

Drive B.C. says Highway 5 is closed in both directions, no detour is available and the estimated time of opening is 7 p.m.

There are reports an air ambulance has been dispatched to the scene.
