Playright Eve Ensler to get honour at John Lennon tribute concert; music by Joan Osborne

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Tony Award-winning playwright and activist Eve Ensler will get a new honour next month —the John Lennon Real Love Award.

The grassroots non-profit Theatre Within said Thursday it will honour the author of “The Vagina Monologues” and “Emotional Creature” on Dec. 4 at Symphony Space for her creative life’s work and worldwide social activism.

The award will be part of The 35th Annual John Lennon Tribute-75th Birthday Celebration that will have performances by Joan Osborne, Martin Sexton, Bettye LaVette, Joseph Arthur, Willie Nile, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, Nicole Atkins, Jonatha Brooke, Chris Smither, Toshi Reagon and Rich Pagano.

Ticket prices are $75, $95 and $125, with VIP options available.
