RCMP officer hit during traffic stop

KELOWNA – RCMP has confirmed one of its officers was hit by a truck this afternoon during a traffic stop on Rutland Road.

Sgt. Wade Seversen says the officer was and a man he was escorting were struck by the mirror of a passing truck around 11:10 a.m. They both suffered minor injuries. The Kelowna Traffic Section is investigating the collision.

Anyone with information can call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
