PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. – RCMP in Prince George, B.C., say they’ve found the vehicle involved in an alleged hit and run that killed a man who was using a wheelchair and seriously injured a cyclist.
Mounties say in a news release that a forensic and mechanical examination will be conducted on the vehicle, which was seized after officers issued a public appeal and received a tip within hours.
No one has been arrested or charged.
The RCMP said in a news release on Saturday that an officer on patrol came across what appeared to be a collision scene just after midnight that morning.
The officer found two injured men and a “severely damaged” electric-powered wheelchair and bicycle, according to police.
The 48-year-old man died of his injuries in hospital, while the 56-year-old cyclist is expected to survive.
