WolfPack Women’s Volleyball lose exhibition match to Seattle University

KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack women’s volleyball team kicked off their U.S. tour Sunday, Aug 28.
 
The WolfPack scrimmaged and then played an exhibition match against the Seattle University Redhawks.
 
The Redhawks have been practicing for over a month in preparation for their season opener in a couple of weeks. They downed the Wolfpack in straight sets. The scores were 25-21, 28-26, 25-23.
 
“We lost a few points on parts of the game we haven’t gone over yet,” TRU head coach Chad Grimm said. “With seven new girls and the fact we haven’t been practicing for a full week, we haven’t worked on double blocks and other aspects of the game.”
 
“Overall, I was happy with us recovering and finding our stride. We were in both the final two sets. We were in a good position but at this point of our development, we weren’t able to follow though, Grimm said.”
 
The WolfPack continue their tour with a match on Monday, Aug. 29 against the host Oregon State Beavers.
 
TRU has two more exhibition matches after that in Oregon before returning home. The rest of the WolfPack exhibition schedule includes tournaments in Edmonton and Langley.
 
The ‘Pack open up their 2016 Canada West regular season on Friday, Oct. 28 on the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre as they entertain the University of Alberta Pandas. Game time is 6 p.m.
