How now missing cow? Artsy-designed bovine statue missing from Children’s Museum of Houston

HOUSTON – An artsy cow statue decorated with a Southwestern theme has been swiped from outside the Children’s Museum of Houston.

Museum officials on Thursday announced the theft of the “Border Bovine” artwork.

Museum workers noticed the brightly colored statue was missing and contacted Houston police.

The statue features images of mountains, the Rio Grande, a longhorn’s skull and cactus. The piece was bolted down next to another cow creation, which was not taken.

The decorated statues were part of a 2001 Houston arts effort called Cow Parade.
