Blazers sign forward Travis Walton

KAMLOOPS – The Kamloops Blazers announced on Sept. 12, 2016 that they have signed 17-year-old forward Travis Walton to a standard WHL player agreement.

Walton has played the past two seasons at Yale Academy based out of Abbotsford, B.C. The Abbotsford native scored 17 goals and had 26 points in 23 games last season for the Yale Academy Midget Prep team.

The 6’2” and 180 lb left winger joins the Blazers after attending the B.C. Hockey League’s Chilliwack Chiefs camp.

“Travis is a big, left shot forward that has good offensive instincts,” General Manager, Stu MacGregor says. “We are excited that Travis and his family have committed to our program.”

Walton made his WHL preseason debut with the Blazers on Saturday night. He scored a goal in a 6-3 loss to the Kelowna Rockets.
