Glover looks for city council seat

KAMLOOPS – After 18 years as a school trustee, Annette Glover is looking to make the jump to city councillor in the next election.

She made the announcement this week as nomination forms became available for pickup. Glover, a former medical lab technician, has also been involved with different city committees and a volunteer with both the BIG Little Science Centre and the B.C. Interior Community Foundation, formerly the Kamloops Foundation.

She says she wants see more jobs, preservation of our resources and a new performance centre to attract more entertainment to the community.

So far all of the current city council members have said they intend to run again along with Peter Kerek, Bob Dieno and Dieter Dudy. No one has stepped up to challenge Mayor Peter Milobar for his seat yet.

Nomination packages are now available for pickup at City Hall and online for those wishing to run for mayor, city council and Kamloops school trustees. Packages must be filed between Sept. 30 and Oct. 10.
