Stabbing incident on Main Street in Penticton
PENTICTON – Penticton RCMP are investigating a stabbing incident in the city.
RCMP spokesperson Rick Dellebuur says officers responded to Penticton Regional Hospital on Oct. 7 at 10:51 p.m. in response to a call from the hospital about a man being treated for stab wounds.
The man, believed to be in his early 40s, was dropped off by another man in a pickup, who told hospital personnel the injured man had been jumped by an assailant at the 24-7 convenience store on Main Street, Dellebuur says.
The man suffered serious stab wounds to his left shoulder and torso, and underwent surgery. His present condition is unknown.
Dellebuur says police have since found the pickup truck and the driver. The incident continues to be investigated.
