Marc Anthony hitting the high notes as sports agent; singer has Reds’ Aroldis Chapman in fold

MIAMI – Another entertainer is joining Jay-Z in the sports agent business — singer Marc Anthony.

Anthony founded Magnus Media this year. The company said Monday it is forming a joint venture that will represent Cincinnati Reds closer Aroldis Chapman.

Praver Shapiro Sports Management is part of the joint venture. It is headed by agents Barry Praver and Scott Shapiro.

Chapman is the hardest throwing pitcher in the major leagues. He is eligible for free agency after the 2016 World Series.

Jay-Z, whose given name is Shawn Carter, is partners with CAA Sports in Roc Nation Sports. It signed Robinson Cano as its first baseball client in 2013.
