MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens winger Alexander Semin has cleared waivers.

Montreal put the forward on waivers Monday after he posted one goal and three assists in 15 games this season.

The Canadiens signed the 31-year-old Russian to a US$1.1-million, one-year contract this past summer after the Carolina Hurricanes bought him out.

Semin is in his 11th NHL season after being drafted 13th overall in 2002.
