LONGUEUIL, Que. – Seven Quebec men from the same family are facing sex charges for alleged offences against four minors between the late 1950s and the mid-’70s, authorities say.
The men were arrested Tuesday and appeared in court on Wednesday in Longueuil, near Montreal.
The suspects are now between 59 and 71 and the alleged victims were aged between nine and 16 at the time, Longueuil police said in a statement.
The women came forward this past August, the statement said.
Crown prosecutor Christel D’Auteuil-Jobin said the charges are extremely serious given the number of accused and the number of alleged victims.
The seven men were freed until Feb. 8 on several conditions, including not being in contact with each other.
