TORONTO – Colin Miller has been named the interim coach of the Canadian men’s soccer team.
Miller will lead Canada into its first training camp of 2013 set to run Jan. 19-30 in the United States. The camp features frendlies against Denmark and the Americans.
The coaching position had been vacant since Oct. 18, when Stephen Hart resigned days after Canada crashed out of World Cup qualifying after an 8-1 loss to Honduras.
Miller served as Canada’s interim head coach in 2003 and 2004 and was an assistant coach on its 2003 Gold Cup team.
He also represented Canada as a player, most notably as part of Canada’s World Cup team in 1986.
