WHISTLER, B.C. – Nasty weather has forced the upcoming 2016 Viessmann Luge World Cup event being held in Whistler, B.C., to change its schedule.
A heavy snowstorm rolling through the Canadian prairies has held up trucks transporting athletes’ sleds from Lake Placid, N.Y., to Whistler.
The transports will have to wait in Manitoba for the winter storm to pass, which has pushed back training and the four official races.
The athletes will now use Friday for training, with all four races rescheduled to take place on Saturday at the Whistler Sliding Centre.
The four official races include women’s singles, doubles, men’s singles and the Viessmann Team Relay World Cup.
