PENTICTON – Secure parking wasn’t enough to keep a Penticton resident from losing belongings from a vehicle last week.
Penticton RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says police received a call early Tuesday, Nov. 15, from a Yorkton Avenue resident reporting a theft.
The rifle was taken from a vehicle parked on the street, sometime between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The vehicle was parked in a secure underground lot with a garage door requiring a fob to open.
There were no signs of forced entry into the vehicle.
A seven-millimetre, Kleinguenther bolt action rifle in a green and brown soft case was reported missing. The gun had a trigger lock attached.
