Perpetual Energy Inc. (TSX:PMT). Oil and gas. Down half-a-cent, or 12.50 per cent, to 3.5 cents on 15.3 million shares.

Pacific Exploration & Production Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Down 47 cents, or 37.30 per cent, to 79 cents on 12.2 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up six cents, or 1.81 per cent, to $3.38 on 10.4 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Up six cents, or 2.27 per cent, to $2.70 on 9.3 million shares.

Teck Resources Ltd. (TSX:TCK.B). Miner. Up 49 cents, or 12.89 per cent, to $4.29 on 7.1 million shares.

Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Down 13 cents, or 2.15 per cent, to $5.92 on 6.8 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Reitmans Canada Ltd. (TSX:RET.A). Retail. Down 14 cents, or 3.57 per cent, to $3.78 on 88,009 shares. The fashion retailer says it will eliminate 77 positions — about 10 per cent of its head office employees — to reduce costs in the face of an increasingly competitive and challenging environment and a lower Canadian dollar.

WestJet Airlines (TSX:WJA). Airline. Up nine cents, or 0.49 per cent, to $18.53 on 286,948 shares. WestJet says it will use low fares to compete with new discount rival NewLeaf but that “ancillary revenue” will come only from extra fees that it thinks will “add value” for its guests and that it wont follow NewLeaf by charging passengers for carry-on baggage or for printing boarding passes at the airport.
