SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Latest on a brush fire impacting a major Southern California interstate (all times local):
3:50 p.m.
Authorities have reopened a major freeway east of Los Angeles that was closed by a brushfire.
Caltrans says Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass was reopened in both directions Wednesday afternoon, a few hours after all lanes were shut down because of smoke from the fire and the need for fire engines to get through.
I-15 is a major connector between Southern California, high desert cities and Las Vegas.
About 250 firefighters were battling the 50-acre blaze. There’s no word on when it might be contained.
No buildings have burned, and no injuries are reported.

A brush fire has forced a complete closure of Interstate 15 in Cajon Pass east of Los Angeles.
Caltrans says all lanes were closed around noon Wednesday and motorists should avoid the area.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department says the fire has grown to 20 acres (8 hectares).

A brush fire has forced a partial closure of Interstate 15 in Cajon Pass east of Los Angeles.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department says the fire has grown to 20 acres (8 hectares) late Wednesday morning and smoke is impacting the freeway.
Authorities are closing the southbound lanes of I-15 at State Route 138.
