Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island hit with another blast of winter
HALIFAX – An intense winter storm was bearing down on Nova Scotia and Price Edward Island on Saturday, the second significant snowfall in as many days.
Environment Canada said up to 35 centimetres of snow was expected in Nova Scotia by early Sunday, while up to 15 centimetres was expected in P.E.I.
Most flights at Halifax Stanfield International Airport were cancelled on Saturday.
Police in the region were reporting a number of minor accidents and were urging people to stay off roads or drive with extreme caution.
Up to 25 centimetres of snow fell on parts of the region earlier this week, creating power outages, school closures and poor driving conditions.
